Energy Balancing Can Help With Performance Issues
Although energy healing modalities are often used for physical ailments, there are many other challenging situations that can be addressed with the use of this balancing work. While performance animals do have their share of injuries, they may also be prone to emotional & behavioral issues. Even seasoned show animals can become stressed and/or burned out. Energy healing provides a state of relaxation for body, mind and spirit. Animals participating in any sport, as well as working animals, can benefit from these healing techniques. A body that is relaxed and energetically balanced is better able to focus on the task at hand as well as on their handler or rider. Healing Touch For Animals® does have techniques specifically designed to keep your animal grounded and enhance focus. These techniques along with Essential Oils, Tuning Forks or Flower Essences can often prove to be a gentle solution to a stressful problem for both animal and owner.
Essential Oils For Animals
In my energy therapy practice I often incorporate the use of essential oils to assist the animals in their healing process. I only use pure therapeutic grade essential oils for my clients. These are vastly different from the oils used for making perfumes and fragranced body care products. Therapeutic grade oils are generally NOT obtainable from the local health food or metaphysical store. The oils I use have a high vibrational frequency which work to enhance the effects of the energy techniques. Care must be taken when using the oils, as they are not for use with all animals. I am happy to discuss the use of essential oils with owners and educate them on proper application for the safety and well-being of their pet.
Q: What are the benefits of massage & energetic bodywork?
A: Massage & bodywork benefit our animals in many ways:
• Sooth sore muscles
• Support the immune system
• Increase circulation
• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Support animals through injuries, illnesses, physical and emotional trauma or abuse
• Build the animal-human bond
• Develop confidence for training and competition
• Support animals during end of life transition
Q: How long does a treatment/session last?
A: A massage or energy work session can run from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the client’s needs.
Q: How many sessions are recommended?
A: The number of sessions for any energy modalitiy is dependent upon the needs of the client. After each session, the client’s needs are reassessed to plan the care appropriately. This will include the need for further treatments, referrals to other professionals, and suggestions for ways that the owner may be able to help the animal improve.
Q: How soon will I notice results in my animal?
A: The energy shifts immediately with the integration, like a light being turned on in a dark room. An overall feeling of relaxation is commonly experienced. Pain relief is often apparent after one session. Most people report that their pets seem much “lighter” after the session. That is because they literally are! Emotions such as depression, anger, fear, etc. can be released. Once released, the void where those emotions were formerly held may be automatically filled with light, truth, love, and joy. With some issues, owners will immediately notice improvement. With other issues, although the energetic changes are in place, the shift in healing may not be apparent right away. Depending on the animal and their particular issue additional treatments may be required to further the healing process.
Q: Do I have to believe in this for it to work on my pet?
A: One great thing about animals is that they are naturally energetically aware. Their systems are very sensitive to their energetic environment. Plus, they don’t pre-judge things like humans do. Most animals are happy to receive the treatments. Your animal will instinctively receive the exact amount of healing his body needs. So, to answer your question, no, you as an owner don’t have to believe in the process for it to work. However, your animal is so in-tune with you that he will feel it if you are resistant or apprehensive. Therefore it is in the best interest of your pet if you can approach the work with an open mind.
Q: Do you recommend that massage & bodywork be used in place of conventional veterinary care?
A: ABSOLUTELY NOT! Massage & body work should be used in conjunction with – not instead of – conventional veterinary care.
Q: My Animal Is Terminally Ill. Can Energy Therapy Still Help?
A: Energy therapy can assist your terminally ill animal by allowing the body to come to a place of relaxation. It is also helpful in reducing pain. Although there have been cases of seemingly miraculous recovery, owners must understand that each animal is on their own personal journey. Therefore each animal will respond in their own way to the energy. Some will refuse it. Some will embrace it. Some may indeed recover. And some may use the energy to help them reach a place of peace and readiness to leave their earthly body.
Flower Essences For Gentle Healing

Simply put, Flower Essences are liquids that are made by placing the petals of flowers in water and then setting them in the sun (think Sun Tea). This enables the flower’s unique vibrational qualities to be captured in the water and thus be easily administered via ingestion, massage, diffusion, etc. They are most commonly used to help with emotional and mental issues.
