About Kim
An animal lover from a very young age, Kim has spent her life caring for and learning about animals of all kinds, from dogs and cats to rats and rabbits. She carried her love of animals with her when she traveled to Virginia to earn her BA in Equine Studies from Virginia Intermont College in 1984. Upon graduation she returned to Colorado and shortly thereafter met her future husband. After getting married and buying a home she was finally in a position to have dogs again be a part of her life. She has been involved with training & showing for almost 21 years and has been involved with dog rescue for 18 years.
“I’ve been an Animal Person all my life and have always been able to find refuge in my interactions with animals, no matter what the species. Animals are so honest and loving. I’ve always felt a special kinship with them. I always feel at home with them.”
After encountering some personal physical challenges, Kim examined various methods of treatment and chose a holistic healing approach. After seeing fabulous results with her own issues she began researching the use of holistic treatments for her animals. Kim began incorporating holistic healing methods for her animals long before they became mainstream. This was the beginning of a long journey that has brought her to where she is today.
“When I find something that makes me feel healthier or happier I always wonder if there’s a way I can use it for my animals. It’s not always possible, but many holistic modalities can be used safely with the animals, and with great results. Of course my pets still see their veterinarian for regular check-ups and I keep their vet informed of everything I’m doing, but I’m absolutely certain that their health, well being and quality of life have been greatly improved by incorporating holistic healing modalities such as Massage, Healing Touch For Animals®, Flower Essences and Chiropractic care, among others.”
Kim lives in Denver with her husband Doug and their three rescued Italian Greyhounds – Gunner, Boomer & Vinnie.
